Noctilucent Clouds. This image was taken 4 July 2004 while airborne at 35,000 feet. From this position near Churchill on the Hudson Bay in central Canada (near 58N, 095W) there are very few other observers. This bright and contrasting display eventually filled the entire sky as the sun rose higher towards daybreak and illuminate the NLC overhead. An incredible sight!
